the craziness that is school

yep. school. it is super fun. (read the sarcasm in this statement) I have been in school for 17, going on 18 years of my life. technically, I plan to be in school for awhile longer...first, for grad school for geology, and then, in my own classroom. let me say, being on the other side of instruction makes a BIG difference.

in other news, I am super excited about this coming year with my new roommates and with Aletheia. it's already been beyond fun and I haven't even been back for 2 weeks.

homework isn't looking so bad. practicum placement will be at Harrisonburg, Turner Ashby, or some as yet unnamed high school in the surrounding area. my professor told us today that 3 of us are at HHS, 1 is at TA, and 1 does not have a placement. did he tell the 4 of us who have a placement where we are? nope. we don't even know which of the 5 of us hasn't been placed somewhere yet. yay. the suspense is killing me. I just want to go to practicum already. obviously, that's not going to happen this week.

in a less complaining tone, I am currently reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan. it is amazing. the past week, I wasn't able to read as much as I would have liked, courtesy of my 80 page reading and response homework. but I have to say, it is a great book and it's astounding how much we try to control our lives and explain the world around us, and yet, we will never be able to. why do we keep trying? because we're human. but, if we can just remember God's work in all this and how much beyond our imagination He stretches, we can keep our perspectives on target.

When we aren't sure
we turn our eyes to You
no more we will roam
You will make us pure
You are the road home

**Into the night
the darkness reaches
but I know I am not alone
because You are always with me
and I stand before Your throne

When we're afraid
we turn our eyes to You
No more we will roam
our ransom You paid
You are the road home

**

We come to You
always believing
for You I'm living
You are the road home
this is the road home

**

This is the road home
You are the road home
Lord, won't You lead me
Lead me home.

just discovered (in class, so it wasn't a personal discovery) that wordle.net is way cool.

it's been awhile

It has certainly been awhile since I've written anything. Life has been crazy! I finally graduated. And now I'm back in class! Go me! Graduate school is not hard so much as a lot of work. I have finished one class and have to finish 3 more before I'm done for the summer.

Standing on the promises of God.

All the time.

more later.
